My Review Philosophy...
When I sit down to write about a board game, my goal is simple: share genuine thoughts that actually reflect what I experienced and believe—no filters, no corporate echo chamber.
Here’s how I approach every review:
- Transparency first
If a company has hired or compensated me to create a review, preview, or any other content, I’ll state that clearly right at the top. Full disclosure, every time. - Truth first
Even with compensation, I will always speak the truth of what I believe. If my honest opinion doesn’t align with what the company hopes to promote, I won’t publish it. I will reject the assignment rather than compromise. I refuse to be a paid shill pushing the “next hot thing” that falls flat in my opinion. - Genuine thoughts only
If I’m writing about a game here, you’re getting my real perspective—not some corporate ideology I don’t stand behind. - Focus on the positive
Every game has its audience, and sometimes I’m simply not in that group. When a game doesn’t click for me, I will choose to move on rather than bad-mouth it.
I prefer to write about games that excite me—the ones I really enjoy playing. If something makes it onto the review blog, you can be sure that I enjoyed my plays of the game. And if I loved it, there’s a very high chance I’ve already started designing upgraded components or a usable insert to make it even better.
In short: honesty, integrity, passion, and a drive to improve the games I care about. That’s the foundation of everything I write here.
Thanks for reading—and thanks for trusting that what you see is what I truly think.
Be kind to one another, celebrate our differences, and remember to share our love of board gaming. Let's keep that front and centre.
